I absolutely love print ads. I enjoy concepting, copywriting, photography, and art direction. I'm thankful to have written copy for some great graphic designers who made the concepts come to life.
I enjoy video and its process: Concepts, script writing, directing, and even acting. I'm in. I can also edit video, but haven't had to do much of it.
Magazines were my bread and butter and I enjoy writing and telling the story. I can whittle anything down to fit any size and still captivate. I spent ten years with the Goodguys Gazette, and continue to freelance for them today. I've been with Rod & Kulture (quarterly) since the beginning, and currently write for the American Tri-Five Association and Xceleration Media titles.
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, vector, raster, hand-drawing, gifs, and I love clean typography...
While I don't hang my hat on being a "photographer" I did it for ten years and am proficient in natural light, action, catalog and product work. I shoot full manual mode on any camera.
I know HTML and oversaw a roster of newsletters - selecting content, creating headlines and graphics and scheduling launches. I've done split-testing and list management that significantly increased open and click-through rates. Newsletters are one of the best direct marketing tools available today and are vastly underestimated by those who do not understand that.
I can officially call myself an “Award Winning Copywriter.” I earned a Silver in the Project Re-Write Longhand contest, as judged by the original writers of the ads themselves.
